When I was a kid I had that mom. The mom that had to work two jobs at times to make sure that we were never hungry and sold things that were precious to her so that we would have new clothes on Easter morning. If we wanted to play a sport or do extra-curricular activities my mom worked extra hours so we could do the things she knew were important to us. We weren’t spoiled by any means but she made sure we never went without either. I wrote several times and entered her in those contests but not because I wanted her to win a new car…don’t get me wrong, I definitely wanted her to win a new car but that’s not why…I think I wanted the whole world to know that my mom was the most awesome mom ever. But, she never won and I never told her (until now) that I entered her because I didn’t want her to be upset for not winning.

I’ve been so very blessed in my own life that my kids don’t have to see that side of me. The side that would walk on fire to get them what they need. But, there are so many children that have seen that side of their own mothers.

So, because I’ve been there and because I’m appreciative to the sacrifices my mom made for me, I’d like to give back to a very special mom. So, if you know a mom that has gone above what any mother should have had to go through. A mom who has taken on the world to fight for her kids then I want to know about her. Write me a letter, tell me all about her and her story. Then, I have arranged for a panel of unbiased mom’s to get together and choose a winner. I will not be a judge and all of the entries will be anonymous when given to the judges so anyone can enter.
